Hello friends!
We have been very busy over here at Living for Hope. Blessings abound at our Haitian outreach ministry as we received hundreds of shirts from a local electrical contractor, Meisner Electric. My family and I spent the weekend boxing these shirts up with plans to send them off to Haiti very soon. Sunday after church we got after it again, and boxed 190 pairs of brand new flip flops.

If you read our most recent news letter, you may remember that we were praying for flip flops (yes, you read that correctly, we prayed for flip flops!). More specifically, for a donation of flip flops. During my most recent visit to Haiti I asked our guide -who is our hands and feet on the ground in the distribution of meals- what he sees as the next basic need we can help meet for the elderly of Cap-Hatien. Without a beat he said flip flops. We had the opportunity to send some over 2 years ago and as sandals do, the soles have now worn out on them. I assured him we would immediately begin praying over the need. Less than a week later I received a call from a friend that an anonymous donor had over 150 pairs of new flip flops!! But that wasn’t all, along with the flip flops would come matching handbags! Can you imagine my surprise after hearing this news? I was speechless. Not only did God answer our prayer for flip flops, something we consider so basic over here in the states, but he is blessing our sweet sisters in Haiti with handbags to go along with them!

In the days to come, my oldest daughter will be making the trip to Fort Lauderdale to deliver 6 large boxes of shirts and 7 medium boxes of flip flops to the shipping company we use. From there, they will be placed in a container to be loaded onto a cargo ship. It will then take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive and go through customs. Then our team on the ground will pick them up for distribution to those in need.

Will you join us in prayer for the following:
Protection over these boxes. There is always some level of risk involved in shipping and going through customs.
For God to prompt the hearts of those who can give to help in covering the shipping cost of approx. $600.00
For 6 heavy duty backpacks for hauling approx. 40 lb of the bi monthly food supplies. Approximately $360.00
As always, your friendship with us is not contingent on your giving. Our family will always be your friend as we go through this life together. If you have a prayer request, we would be honored to come alongside of you. Jjust drop us a line on our contact page.
